The largest
sand island in the world, World Heritage Fraser Island is
nestled off the south east Queensland coast in Australia.
At 134 kilometers in length, the island stretches from as far
south as Tin Can Bay, with it's northern most tip Sandy Cape
reaching past the city of Bundaberg.
Fraser Island
is a mixture of stunning and varied eco systems, from
mountainous sand dunes, wide beaches and coloured sands to
pristine fresh water lakes, ancient forests in the heart of
the island and fresh water creeks. Fraser Island is also
home to numerous animal species, such as the wild dingo which
are a unique and integral part of the island's environment.
Recognised for it's environmental
and historical value, Fraser Island is part of the World
